Play chess against the computer free in your browser. Fast 2-5 minute games, no signup, no download, and no opening theory to memorise.

Start a fast Pocket Shuffle Chess game against AI. Practise daily tactical seeds, randomized mirrored setups, score chasing, and short no-opening-theory games.

Why practise against the AI

  • No waiting for an opponent - a game starts the moment you open the page.
  • No clock pressure from another player, so you can take time on a tactic.
  • Replay the same seed as many times as you like to test a different plan.
  • Because the back rank is randomized, you practise seeing the board rather than recalling an opening.

What to work on

On a 5x6 board the pieces make contact within a couple of moves, so the skills that pay off are the concrete ones: spotting knight forks, noticing which diagonals a bishop already controls, counting whether a capture sequence wins material, and checking that your king is not walking into a discovered attack. Playing the AI is the cheapest way to drill those patterns.

When you want a fresh challenge, switch to the shared daily seed, pick a curated setup from the seed list, or work through the puzzle set.
